もともとがんの治療には重粒子線を含む放射線療法、外科療法、化学療法があり、それぞれにメリット・デメリットがあります。なかでも放射線療法は放射線で細胞核の中のＤＮＡに分子レベルの傷をつけ、もうそれ以上細胞分裂できないようにしてがん細胞を殺す治療ですが、切らずに治る、痛くない、熱くない、といったメリットがあります。

放医研の入院室数は９６室ですが通院治療の人も多く、平均在院日数は３週間程度、重粒子線の照射はがんの場所や症状により１回の人もいれば１０数回の人もいるそうです。
気になるのはその治療費ですが、重粒子線治療は「先進医療」に該当するので保険は適応外。患者の自己負担額は３１４万円です！（治療に必要な診察・検査・投薬・入院など一般の治療と共通する部分は保険診療）。照射回数は関係ありません。
保険の適応外ですから、高額療養費制度の対象にもならず、照射後の５営業日めには一括請求されるそうです。がんと診断されても、手術で切ったり抗がん剤で副作用に苦しまなくていいとしたら、重粒子線の治療を選択しませんか？
がん保険に加入するなら、必ず先進医療にかかる費用を忘れずに確保してください。たった１００円程度です。
ちなみに、終身がん保険 入院日額５，０００円、診断給付金１００万円（悪性新生物１回のみ）、がん先進医療特約付に加入すると
